published: 2018-10-24 07:42:54

Brazilians will head to polls on Sunday to choose between two radically different leaders in the second round of voting.
Fernando Haddad from the Workers’ Party is the country’s left-wing candidate.
But his right-wing rival Jair Bolsonaro holds a lead in most polls and is expected to win.

Al Jazeera’s Daniel Schweimler has more from Sao Paulo on what’s behind Bolsonaro’s political popularity.

If a candidate gets a mountain of negative coverage from western media like Bolsonaro has, it means that you’re making the right decision.

  12. How can someone claim to be an "anti-establishment" politician while the business community of the country strongly backs him? How can his supporters speak for "conservatism" and "family values", when he has opposed the maternity leave laws? How could the families continue to exist then? And how could a politician appear as a defender of "Law and Order" while he has said to a female counterpart that "she is too ugly to get raped"?

  14. This narrow-minded political analyst you chose to have in this short video is pathetic. According to him the only positive thing about Bolsonaro is that he is not a corrupt politician. That is one of his positive factors as a candidate. But there are many other ones. He is NOT A COMMUNIST, HE DOESN'T WANT TO TURN BRAZIL INTO THE NEXT VENEZUELA. He is not in favor of decriminalization of drugs, he doesn't treat criminals like victims, he is in favor of the operation LAVA JATO, he is a patriot, not a communist, he is against the sexualization and indoctrination of our children, he unites our country , he is a family man, he is a religious man, he loves his country . He is agaisnt abortion, he is really honest about what he thinks. He admits his mistakes.
The workers party destroyed our country, They are the founders of the Foro the SP in the 90 s and they support all socialist dictartorship all of the world.

  16. I get the appeal of right-wing populists, to an extent. I supported Rob Ford for mayor of Toronto in 2010, back when I was a conservative. Now, I'm democratic socialist and I hate him and his stupid brother, Doug Ford. Once you learn the facts, it's hard to look back at the past and admit you ever supported social and economic conservatives who don't understand what they're doing.

  18. I would like to ask all TRUTH supporters, NOT GUIDED BY MAIN STREAM MEDIA, to put Brazil in your prayers until Sunday October 28th , the day when we will vote to elect the next President of Brazil.
We the people of Brazil, in a majority of 70% , are voting for JAIR BOLSONARO. The candidate that the media calls a fascist, racist, homophobic, and all the other leftist typical SMEARS …
And even with all the attacks, we have being keeping support for him, through Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube…
But we now are in extremally danger and risk of having an election FRAUD next Sunday.
The FAKE POOLS are already showing fake results. Showing that the candidate from the CORRUPT party PT, has risen more that 31 points on voters intention since the election´s round one, on October 7th.
    WHICH IS TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE…
The LEFTIEST MEDIA had total control of news in the last decades. And NOW is trying through this FAKE POOL RESULTS, to get both candidates FALSELLY close in voters intention, by GIVING THIS LIE CREDIBILITY to MAKE POSSIBLE TO FRAUD THE ELECTION RESULTS NEXT SUNDAY…
We also believe that until Saturday the 27th, something REALLY BAD it´s going to happen to blame Jair Bolsonaro for. No Bolsonaro´s voters will believe it because we are prepared for that. BUT we believe that THE MEDIA IT´S GOING TO HAMMER 24H A DAY, those BAD ( and fake) NEWS, CHANGED VOTERS INTENTION. And pave the way FOR THE FRAUD that will KEEP BRAZIL UNDER THE CORRUPT SYSTEM THAT HAS BEING SPONSERING VENEZUELA´S , CUBA´S, AFRICAN´S, and other DICTADORSHIPS…
Brazil is a very large and RICH country and VERY important for those communists countries . And to work for a credible motive to hide the fraud, is the only way to keep things the way they are now. Also making the elections seem real for the International community .
AND FAKING SOME ATTACK OR NEWS IT´S THE WAY TO REACH THAT…. PLEASE HELP US AND PUT BRAZIL IN YOUR PRAYERS UNTIL SUNDAY. WE THE PEOPLE OF BRAZIL WANT TO BREAK FREE AND HAVE A HONEST AND DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT. HELP US PLEASE. WE NEED YOUR PRAYERS. Pray for right wing Jair Bolsonaro be our next president. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. 🙏🙏🙏🇧🇷️❤️

Everything else that the far left wing in Brazil and around the world is saying about him….it’s all rubbish!!!!!

Brazil need a true líder, a true man, and not what the Pt( Workers Party) have to offer…they are all criminals, hiding through words that enchant snakes and populist lies, they are the cancer of Brazil…

Bolsonaro it’s the best choice, because we didn’t have one as close as him!
